Alvanes is a hemostatic dressing designed for post-extraction care, effectively managing bleeding and promoting healing. This product is available in two forms: a dough and a powder. The dough variant is utilized as an alveolar compress after dental extractions, providing anesthetic, styptic, and antiseptic effects. It contains lidocaine hydrochloride for local anesthesia, cetrimide as an antiseptic, and a gel-adjuster to facilitate application. The powder form is applied during procedures like calculus removal or gingivectomy, forming a gel upon contact with blood to aid in hemostasis. Both forms are non-toxic and compatible with other antibiotics or antiseptics, ensuring safe and effective use in dental practices.​
